Here's a cool & quick technique that my friend, Kitty, said she saw on the Hero Arts website (
http://www.heroarts.com/). It uses dye inks, glossy cardstock and a crayon for a resist. The results are pretty spiffy.
First stamp some random images on a piece of glossy cardstock using Staz On ink (black) - I tried using Memories ink one time and it all smeared in the end. We don't like smeary.

Next using a white crayon scribble, highlight or outline different areas on the stamped piece - here I highlighted the car's wheels, Bingo numbers, the word "giggle" in the lower right and some various scribbles throughout. Of course you can't see them here, yet, but believe me they're there.

Then using a few colors of dye inks and a makeup wedge smoosh some of the color around on the cardstock - you'll start to see some of the crayon highlights.

Using a paper towel or cloth buff the entire piece and the resist marks will show up cleanly - cool, huh?

Finally I mounted the stamped piece on some colored sticky back paper, added some copper mesh, rusty washers and a Dymo tape "Thank You" for the final card.

This is going to my buddy, Kurt, for scoring all those rusty washers for me.
