I recently became hooked on my edge punches to make cards. I love my Martha Stewart punches but I also have some Fiskars ones. The Fiskars always seem to jam whenever I use them causing me to have to bang them on the table to free the cardstock. I really recomment the Martha Stewart punches but will not buy the Fiskars ones again.
I use all my scrap decorative paper, colored cardstock and book pages and then mix and match all colors and types of punches. It's so addictive and I really like the result.
Here's one where I used smaller scraps for a tag.
And now a finished card. I added some Tim Holtz die cuts - the tattered flowers (thank you, Linda) and the caged bird. Also, a little sentiment, some glitter glue and I'm done.

Love this idea Kim! The card is quite beautiful and I will most definitely start using my edges.
