Making Paper Beads

Here's a fun, easy and inexpensive way to make some nice beads for bracelets, necklaces or just add-ons. First start with paper (not cardstock) - I chose black. Stamp randomly with a pigment ink - I used Encore Silver. Now emboss the stamped images - I used detail silver embossing powder. Here's the completed stamped and embossed paper. See it doesn't matter what you stamp just make it random. Now's a good time to drag out those stamps that you hardly ever use ;-)
Next cut the paper into strips the length of the size beads that you want. Roll the strips onto a wooden skewer and then fix the end using a dab of glue. Make sure you don't use too much glue or the bead may not release from the skewer.
Once the beads are dry you can string them on some cording. I used black vinyl type cording so it's still flexible. On the ends I used crimp fasteners and then added a clasp and jumpring.

When it's all done I added some silver heart charms. Easy-peasy and would make a very nice Valentine's gift for someone special. Enjoy!!!
