Organizing...a little

I took a good look at the photo of my craft table in my last post - how do I work like that? It's embarrassing, too. I certainly can't have any guests walk past or even peek into that room - especially if they don't have a similar rubber stamp obsession. So, as fate would have it, the latest Tuesday Morning ad had a neat looking 8 piece craft organizer set for under $20. I knew I had to get rid of the mounds of "stuff" I had all over my table, so I stopped by my local store on Saturday and was lucky enough to buy the last one. Now that I have it, I was able to organize my craft table...a little bit.
Check out how it looks now.....Yesterday I visited my very dear friend, Linda - who's also a big time rubber stamper. Recently her French Envy rubber stamp storage cabinets were delivered. (www.frenchenvy.com/frenchenvy/) They were to die for! She had a place for ALL her rubber stamps, embossing powders, punches, stamp pads, everything and she still had some room left to grow. How awesome! I'm going to start saving now so that I can order a set in the future.
Right now, I store my rubber stamps in those clear acrylic photo frames. I have them labeled, but to get to the bottom category I have to move all those on top. It's not the best system. I've also run out of shelf room so I unfortunately have a shoe box full of a variety of stamps - easy to get to, though.

Since I'm "baring all" I might as well show you the rest of my crafting empire.

Here's my "back" table. I have cardboard paper trays near the wall, plastic bins of punches, clay supplies, eyelets, beads, paints, glue, metal findings, glitter and under the table I have large plastic drawers with more paper and envelopes.
This is the wall to the right of my table. I have a french memo board (that I made) with some very inspiring cards, tags, ATC's, mini books and fabric collages from friends. I also have a shelf where I store tins and bottles of silk flowers, jars of buttons and a cigar box of bottle caps (don't ask). Notice the lovely decoupaged clock (to the right of the memo board) that my talented friend Kitty made. I also have several book shelves with all my craft books and magazines stored. Under my work table I have more bins of bits of paper and ephemera, bottles of buttons (must have those close at hand) and trays of dye ink spray bottles. To my left I have one of those IRIS drawer systems with all my stamp pads (okay not all, I have some everywhere), embossing powders, tape and glue.

I don't think your craft desk was messy. It looks like your desk at work. Just kidding. I love your blog. I am really impressed on the layout and the content.

Kim, I love your room - it is cozy, creative and I just plain know what comes from that room - some of the most beautiful cards and gifts that I cherish. You have done a great job with organizing.
Thank you for sharing and for putting our picture on your blog. It means a lot to me.
Linda
